Reaching Millions in Times Square with the Truth About Drugs Campaign


On January 25, 2018, the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, Americas Chapter launched its drug prevention public service announcements (PSAs) in Times Square, New York City. These PSAs, which appeared four times every hour, were displayed on giant electronic billboards at the corner of 7th Avenue and 46th street, reaching more than 1.9 million people. The PSAs directed people to the Foundation's website to learn more about the award-winning "Truth About Drugs" drug prevention campaign.

The "Truth About Drugs" program, brought to at-risk youth across a citywide network of community centers and schools. Through over 100 partnerships, this program helped generate the first drop in drug usage among teens in more than a decade. Additionally, their efforts earned them over 30 awards and recognitions.

This initiative proved to be highly effective in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and drug addiction. Through their campaign, the Foundation for a Drug-Free World was able to reach millions of people and inspire them to take action against drug abuse. Their efforts were a significant step towards creating a safer and healthier community for everyone.
